Recreational Track and Field
Recreational Costs:
$130 for registration
Families with multiple athletes will be given a discount at checkout.
Athletes will receive a T-Shirt as part of their registration.
Athletes will only be eligible to compete in the LCTC intersquad meet on July 1.
Participation is limited to the first 100 athletes. You must be born in 2019 or before to be eligible.
Registration will close on May 18th at midnight. We will not be able to process late registrations this season.
FAQ
What is Recreational Track? Is this competitive?
The recreational team is designed to promote fitness and introduce the sport of track and field. The athletes will be introduced to short runs, jumps, and each specific track event. There will be a chance to compete in a low-key meet at the end of the session. The recreational team is not eligible to compete in any USATF meet with club affiliation. Practice and competition will be similar to a junior high field day/elementary track meet.
Why is the age based on birth year?
USA Track and Field sets up all age group track and field based on birth year NOT current age. Your "track age" is your age on December 31.
When and where are practices?
Practice will be at Lincoln Christian on Tuesday nights in June. We will practice from 6-7:15. CLICK HERE for practice schedule.
What is the rec meet at the end of the season? How long will it last?
Each athlete will compete in 2 running events and 1 field event. They will sign up the week before the meet. We will have awards for the top 6 finishers in each event/each age group. The meet will last from 5PM - 8PM on July 1.
